Before creating your variable product, you will need to create the attributes. Go to Products > Attributes and add the attribute name e.g Color or Size
click on configure terms and add the new color e.g Blue or small/large for size .(you can add as many as you wish!)
Now you can create your product. Under Products, click on Add New. Below your description, you will need to assign the product date to Variable Product.
change product data to variable product to get a few different fields then from the attribute field you assign what you want for a particular product e.g (color or size).
check the visible on the product page and used for variable check boxes.
then you select the values (blue or small/large) and save the attribute.
Click on variation (go)
go to variation and put in price and other details.
choose a field (crate variation from all attributes),save and expand.scroll down and add information e.g(price,based on color or size)
add short description then publish.
And you good to go!.
